RAVEN Law Firm at the EPU conference

A workshop devoted to e-court, i.e. enforcement of past due debts by electronic means (EPU), will be held in Warsaw on 19 October. The meeting is organised under the auspices of the Minister of Justice by the Conference of Financial Companies in Poland. Among the keynote speakers will be a representative of the RAVEN Law Firm Krupa & Stańko Sp.k.

The e-court system under which the EPU project is implemented has been operating in Poland since the beginning of 2010. Its purpose is to streamline the process of enforcement of past due debts in court. Three quarters into the operation of the system the Conference of Financial Companies in Poland is organising a meeting to discuss the functioning of EPU and possible ways of system optimization as well as to develop specific recommendations for the Ministry of Justice. The conference is targeted at members of management bodies of financial institutions and at representatives of companies providing bulk services.

In the first quarters of 2010 the RAVEN Law Firm filed more than 68,000 suits for payment to court. They include mainly cases of debtors of the KRUK Group who have persistently avoided payment of their debts. A large share of the above cases (in excess of 21,000) was filed to the e-court in Lublin. Sylwester Bobowski, legal counsel of the RAVEN Law Firm, will be one of the keynote speakers at the conference and will share his experience in the use of EPU in enforcement of past due debts. In his speech he will discuss, among others, improvements to the proceedings for the appending of the enforcement clause and to enforcement proceedings.
